My name is Penny Lane. I live in Miami,Florida with my mom,Michelle Lane,and my cat,Jude. But,now,I'm here to tell you about when the three of us took a trip to Liverpool,England and me and Jude ended up on the wildest adventure yet.
I had just turned 17 and my mom wanted to take me on a trip to Liverpool for she had a special surprise for me there as a birthday gift.
We had just flown into Liverpool by plane one morning,got breakfast somewhere and found a good hotel. There was an antique store my mom wanted to go see. She loves to collect old jewelry,mirrors,blankets and stuff. Not to mention,she's really artistic and can come up with a lot of nice ideas for them. Antiques seem to inspire her. So,Mom and I were looking around the store(Jude was on my shoulder,of course.) when suddenly,I heard a "whoosh" kind of sound and noticed a strange shadow in the sunlight coming from one of the shop's windows. I turned around and looked out the window. I was sure I heard and saw something. So,I thought I'd go outside and investigate,my mother not knowing. Outside,I looked around,observing. I didn't hear or see anything unusual.
"Guess it was just my imagination." I said to Jude.
But,just when I had turned to go back into the store,we heard something fly past us from behind and then there was a crash and a splash. Jude jumped off my shoulder and ran off to see what it was.
"Jude,wait!" I cried.
I followed him to where the noises came from. We stopped to see a pair of long ears popping out of a fountain. One ear was red,the other was blue. Then,we saw the long eared creature coming out of the water in the fountain,squirting some water out of her mouth and shaking herself dry. It looked like a cyan rabbit. She had a rainbow colored tail and she was dressed in black rock star clothes.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"I'm fine." She said. "Dosn't look like my board is though."
She looked down at a purple and blue sky riding board with jagged,pink handle bars. It looked like the board was out of shape and partly broken from crashing into the fountain.
"Man! At first,I thought you were one of the beatles." The rabbit told me,noticing my beatle-style haircut and stylish clothes.
"So,who are you and where do you come from?" I asked the rabbit.
"My name is Musicia Bun Bun." She responded. "Captain Fred and I are taken separate directions to find the beatles."
"Captain Fred?" The name seemed to ring a bell.
"He's the captain of the yellow submarine." Musicia told me. "We need to find the beatles. Pepperland is suffering in much darker blueness than before."
It was all coming together over me. I have seen Yellow Submarine in theaters once and,being the beatle fan I am,it was hard to forget.
"So,what's the matter?" I asked and then added with a giggle,"Blue Meanies?"
"Worse! The Dark Blue Meanie!" Musicia said,looking worried. "He's the brother of the Chief Blue Meanie,who's not so mean anymore,as you might know. But,the Dark Blue Meanie is the worst meanie of all. He has taken over Pepperland with his dark powers turning people into dead statues,hypnotizing the newer meanies to work for him and spreading a dark shadow over everything,everywhere.  He might even be after the world next."
I gasped. "Oh,that's awful. Maybe I can help."
"Oh,can you?" Musicia looked hopeful. "That would really mean a lot."
I was getting excited. It looked like a great adventure was waiting in store for me. I even had a good chance of meeting the beatles.
"But,wait." I suddenly remembered. "What about my mom?"
"She'll be fine." Musicia replied. "But,we have to get going and find the beatles. Pepperland is at stake."
I thought for a moment. I didn't want my mother to worry about me,but,I really wanted badly to meet the beatles and help them save Pepperland.
"Okay." I replied. "I'll go. Guess I could always drop Mom a line somehow."
"Thanks a lot." Musicia said happily."Oh...and do you know any kind of repair shop that can fix my board?"
So,we set off to find the beatles or the yellow submarine.
"Oh,by the way," Musicia said as we left her board at the repair shop. "Sorry I didn't ask earlier. What's your name?"
"Oh,how silly of me." I giggled,unbelieving that I could forget to introduce myself. "Well,my name is Penny. Penny Lane." I told her. "And this is Jude. He's my best friend and he'll go almost anywhere with me."
Jude was sitting on my shoulder and rubbed his face up to mine and I chuckled.
"Well,Penny," Musicia said,taking pleasure at the sight of me and my furry companion. "I hope you like to sing,because,we're gonna need all the music we can get to restore Pepperland."
"I love singing." I said. "I've loved singing ever since I was little and I'm told I have a great voice."
"Well good!" Musicia replied. "I'm sure you'll be a big help to us."
"I sure hope so." I said,hoping I wouldn't end up being a bother.
"So,you really like the beatles,don't you?" Musicia asked.
"Yes!" I said. "I'm a huge fan of theirs'."
I looked around to make sure nobody was eavesdropping,then,whispered into Musicia's ear,"Paul is my favorite. I have a crush on him."
"Really?" Musicia looked at me,fascinated.
I nodded,giggling bashfully.
"Don't worry." She laughed,softly. "I won't tell."
To make further conversation,Musicia asked,"So,what's your favorite song that they did so far?"
"I love all of their songs." I answered. "But,one of my most favorite ones of all is Here,There and Everywhere."
"Oh,that's a good one." she said. Then she began to sing with a lovely voice that sounded experienced,"To lead a better life..."
Then,I joined in,"I need my love to be here."
Soon,we were both harmonizing as we walked the streets of Liverpool in search for any help,when all of the sudden,we heard a young man's voice singing the same song only in a lower key. We stopped singing to listen closely to the voice. It was high and mellow;sounded like the voice of a pop singer. As a matter of fact,we both could recognize it right away. It sounded exactly like Paul McCartney himself. We both ran over to see where it was coming from.
We then heard a door opening and the voice with the company of two more saying,"You look fab,Ringo!"
Me and Musicia had found the barber shop in Penny Lane(the street with my name) and leaving it were four lads. We knew it was none other than the fab four.
"It's them!" Musicia whispered,happily,trying not to disturb them. "Come on! Let's follow them and see where they're going."
"Alright!" I wanted to shout for joy,but,remained quiet. I didn't want to cause a ruckus.
We kept following them,trying hard not to catch their attention.
They had reached their house,the pier,and the four of them went inside.
No sooner had they gone,then up in the sky we saw a large yellow shape floating toward the house. It was the Yellow Submarine. Musicia ran up the hill to the pier,me and Jude following her,as the submarine landed. Out of the sub came Captain Fred and the Nowhere Man,Jeremy. Fred knocked on the door crying for help. Ringo answered the door. Fred told him about the trouble in Pepperland and Ringo called his mates over and they were soon all heading into the sub. Musicia had finally caught up to Fred.
"Good thing I found you." She said panting.
"Musicia!" Jeremy spoke up. "What are you doing here? And where is your board,my dear?"
Jeremy always spoke in rhyme. He was poetic all the time. (Hey,I just rhymed! Haha!)
"I had to leave it at a shop to get fixed." Musicia explained. "I'll come back for it. Till then,I'll be riding with you guys."
She noticed me and Jude coming up the hill. I was almost out of breathe.
"Oh!" Musicia just remembered me. "This is Penny. Penny Lane. She would like to accompany us on the trip as well."
"Hi there!" I greeted them,cheerfully.
Hello,Penny." Fred said to me. "It's nice to have you here with us."
"A pleasure to meet you,madamoiselle." Jeremy said,kissing my hand. "I'm pleased to meet your kitty as well."
Jude came up to Jeremy,mewed and sniffed at him. "Who or what is this unusual thing?",Jude must've wondered. Jeremy knelt down to stroke Jude and,in no time,Jude was rubbing up to the nowhere man,purring.
"Awww!" Fred,Musicia and I exclaimed in unison.
"Well,there's no time to lose." Fred said then. "Let's get in this vessel shipshape."
I picked up Jude and followed Fred,Jeremy and Musicia in to the sub,laughing,"I kind of like the way it is. Submarine shape."
